LINE

Line can be considered in three ways. The linear marks made an object, the edge created when objects meet, or implied by the direction of objects in an image.

Shape

The two basic types of shapes are geometric and organic. Geometric shapes are structured, often symmetrical shapes. These include squares, circles, and triangles. Organic shapes are associated with things from the natural world, like plants and animals.

Form

Form is three dimensional (height, width, and depth) and encloses volume.

Texture

Texture is the surface quality or “feel” of an object, it’s smoothness, roughness, softness, etc.

Color

Three properties
—1 - Hue: the color name, red, yellow, blue, etc.
—2 - Saturation: the intensity of a specific hue, bright red or dull red.
—3 - Value: the lightness or darkness of a color.
